The Town: Keystone Resort is located just a short distance away from Denver in Summit County, Colorado. Keystone was founded back in 1970, and has grown to include 3,148 acres of terrain and three base villages. Each of the villages have plenty of shops, bars, stores, restaurants, and lodging. This resort is a widespread favorite for being one of the most family-friendly resorts in Colorado.

The Mountain: With an average snowfall of 236 inches per year and 126 trails this ski resort has massive range of terrain for any ability level. This resort is considered a top family resort because there are designated family ski and ride zones, the world’s largest snow fort, and opportunities for kids to ski free. Vail Mountain Resort

The Town: Vail Mountain Resort is one of the most well-known resorts when it comes to skiing or snowboarding in Colorado. Since Vail first made its debut in 1962, it has grown to become one of the largest and most impressive resorts in Colorado. The town of Vail features plenty of things to do from skiing and snowboarding on the hill, to dining and shopping in the village. Aspen Snowmass

The Town: The town of Aspen started with the silver rush in the 1870s, and opened it’s doors to ski connoisseurs all over the world in 1946. After hosting the 1950 Alpine World Ski Championships, Aspen got the visibility needed to grow into the resort it is today. Now, it is one of the most popular resort towns to visit. Each has a wide range of terrain for different ability levels, are are accessible by city bus. The resort has 5,527 total acres of skiable terrain, which means you’ll have plenty to explore. Although this resort is located farther from Denver, many visitors say the drive is worth it for the views alone.

Steamboat Mountain Resort

The Town: Steamboat Mountain Resort opened in January of 1963. The town of Steamboat is located about 3-4 hours from Denver. Steamboat is known for its ski town charm and world-class skiing. Some of the stunning attractions in the area include the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, Howelsen Ski Hill, and beautiful, on-hill lodges. There are also many restaurants and bars in town for “aprés” when the ski day is done.

The Mountain: Steamboat Mountain Resort has around 169 trails and over 2,965 acres of terrain for skiing and snowboarding. What makes this resort one of the top resorts to visit is the average of 314 inches of snowfall they get each year. After all, what’s better than champagne powder and wide-open tree skiing from top to bottom? The resort has also gained popularity due to a large amount of Olympic athletes that train on the wide-open slopes.
