Springfield, Southern Living Magazines Comeback Neighborhood of the South, has a special sense of community on this attraction, where neighbors know their neighbors, not just on their block, but the ones who live all over the district. Established in 1869, Springfield was home to some of the Jacksonville film industries first actors and a film studio. Truman Capote spent summers with his grandmother, and Ottis Toole, (famed serial killer of Adam Walsh and arsonist) stayed here.
