With easy access to the ocean via the Wild and Scenic Chetco river mouth, Brookings offers a variety of experiences ranging from frequent Pelican and seal sightings to neat coves as well as a wide range of ocean plant life at Chetco Point. Late spring to summer we will sample various seaweeds on this paddle. The boat basin offers easy calm waters where you can view the many different commercial fishing boats and pleasure craft moored up to the docks. Total ocean paddling distance is about 3.3 miles for the 2 hour tour, but can be longer when the weather is calm enough to explore to the north of Chetco Point. We will be wearing wetsuits on this tour.
