- The Gear Pass is a year-long pass that customers can purchase to access cheaper rentals throughout the year. Each pass includes different benefits/perks for rentals in various locations and gear categories.
- Why should I get a gear pass? (1)
- If you love to go on adventures and try out new gear, you will love being a Gear Pass owner! It gives you access to multiple rentals per season that can be redeemed in over 50 locations! After just a few rentals, the pass will pay for itself!
- Which pass is right for me? (1)
- Ski Plus Pass: For people who want to get their families or friends outside at an affordable price. Includes: 2 ski , 6 bike, 2 paddle, 3 camp rentals
- Experience Pass: For folks who want to try new activities all year long and want to try gear before they buy it. Includes: 3 rentals per category (ski, paddle, bike, camp)
- Go Big Pass: These adventurers want to try the latest gear or are traveling and unable to bring the gear they own on their trip. Includes: 15 rentals without category limitation
- When does the gear pass start and end?
- The Gear Pass starts when you purchase it and receive your coupon book! It expires 1 year from your date of purchase.
- How much does the pass cost?
- You can pay a monthly subscription or for the year upfront.
- Ski Plus Pass: $35/month or $325 upfront for the year
- 2 ski/snowboard package rentals + 2 bike, 2 paddle/kayak, and 2 camping rentals in over 75 locations!
- Experience Pass: $55/month or $600 upfront for the year
- 3 rentals per category in ski/snowboard, camping, SUP/kayak, and biking in over 75 locations!
- Go Big: $70/month or $760 upfront for the year
- 15 rentals in ski/snowboard, camping, SUP/kayak, and biking in over 75 locations!
- Ski Plus Pass: $35/month or $325 upfront for the year
- You can pay a monthly subscription or for the year upfront.
- Do I have to buy a new pass each year?
- Yes, if you loved the awesome perks of your Gear Pass, you can purchase another one next year! There are not automatic renewals.
- What if I don’t end up using the pass? Can I get a refund or cancel my monthly subscription?
- The Gear Pass is for committed adventurers! You cannot cancel or get a refund because there is a limited amount of passes being sold. By purchasing one, someone else didn’t get to!
- Where can I buy a gear pass/Can I buy a gear pass at one of the included retailers?
- You can buy your gear pass at the Gear Pass Shop page on gearo.com (https://dev.gearo.net/store/gear-pass/?si). Passes cannot be purchased in retailer shops.
- Can I buy more than one pass at a time?/Are there options for group/family gear passes or deals?
- Yes, you can buy multiple passes at once if there are passes still in stock. There are no specific options for groups, but each pass will come with a coupon book of codes that you can share with your family or friends if you choose to.
- Can I buy a gear pass as a gift?
- Yes, definitely! Just make sure to fill out all of their information on the right-hand side of the product page so we know who you’re giving the pass to and can send them their gift!
- What if I forget/lose my pass?
- The Gear Passes are entirely electronic! You will receive an email confirmation that will be accessible online and contain all of the information and coupons you need to access your pass. If you lose your confirmation email, we can resend it to you! We can look it up by your name or email address. Please contact pass@gearo.com
- Where/when will I receive my gear pass?
- You will receive an email with your Gear Pass Coupon Book shortly after purchase. This will be sent to the email address you use during check out.

- 15 rentals in ski/snowboard, camping, paddleboarding/kayaking, and biking in over 75 locations!
- No restrictions on how many coupons you apply to each category (up to 15 coupons)
The Gear Pass gives customers an affordable way to access thousands of rental products from various locations. The categories that customers have access to include ski, snowboard, bike, kayak, SUP and camp gear that are available throughout the year.
Activity Groups and Restrictions:
- Ski/snowboard includes: Skis, Boots, Poles (resort and backcountry)
- Paddle/Kayak includes: Paddleboards, Kayaks, Surfboards, Wetsuits
- Camp includes: Tents, Sleeping Bags, Sleeping Pads, Backpacks, Coolers
- Biking includes: Mountain, Road, and Cruiser Bikes
Gear Access:
- Gearo Rental Pass does not guarantee the availability of rental gear. It is the user’s sole responsibility to reserve gear on the Gearo website and is based on the availability of a specified retailer.
Expiration:
- Each pass and associated with rental coupons will be valid for 1-year (365 days) from the date of purchase.
Fees:
- Customers are opted into a $70 subscription every month for one year or can choose to pay up front.
Refunds:
- No refunds will be provided once the pass has been purchased. In the event that state-wide closures occur related to COVID-19 and destinations are forced to close, Gearo deserves the right to extend the lifetime of a user’s pass.
- No refunds will be provided for activity vouchers. Users are responsible for their vouchers. Gearo is not responsible for the loss and/or misuse of a user’s vouchers. Vouchers can not be redeemed for cash. There is a strict “use it or lose it” guideline.
Coupon/voucher value:
- Each coupon can be applied to up to a 2-day rental and is worth up to $400 ($200/day) value towards a single rental.
- Rentals extending beyond 2-days and/or $200 in value will be the sole responsibility of the user.
